A Product Of The iGeneration

This blog is where I make commentary on everything from serious world and American issues to the stupid crap that celebrities do, say, and get away/don't get away with. To read my personal thoughts and about my everyday life, go to www.xanga.com/rhymemaster0515.

Mine safety

With all the attention that has come to mine safety following the mining accidents here in West Virginia, this is a subject that I feel inclined to write about. Everyone knows mines aren't the safest places to work in the world, but they could be made safer. Measures could have been taken before these incidents to be sure that things like this didn't happen. Why does it take things like this happening to bring issues like workplace safety to attention? Plans should have been in the works before any of this came along, to ensure that those incidents didn't happen. It's a true shame that it takes bloodshed for people to open their eyes.
